Plans are currently underway for Greyhound Options 2nd
annual Service with a Smile Dinner/ Auction. Mark your calendar to join your GO friends at Abruzzo
Restaurant, on Sunday, August 1 beginning at 4:00 p.m. for some good food and
lots of fun. The event was a hit
last year, and we hope to have more folks joining in the fun! We are scheduling it a little earlier
than last year, so we will be able to enjoy some time outdoors (weather permitting), and have
dinner on Abruzzo’s spacious patio overlooking the lake. The banquet room facilities are also
available to us, if you prefer the comfort of air conditioning. We aim to please!
If you don’t want to participate in the auction, you are still welcome
to attend for a delicious dinner.
Your ticket will entitle you to a Buffet including: Salad, Bruschetta Bread, Ziti Broccoli,
Meatball/Sausage/Pepper/Onion,
Chicken Francese, and a Vegetable Medley. Abruzzo Restaurant is conveniently located at 2589 Boston
Rd., Wilbraham.
And, if good
food isn’t enough, you can stay for the fun and participate in the Service with
a Smile Auction. You will have the
opportunity to bid on all kinds of services, donated by GO’s Board of Directors
and other talented friends of the organization. Although we haven’t solicited donations yet (hint, hint) there
will certainly be something for everyone.
Last year, Auctioneer
Donald Crouser had several serious bidding wars going on as folks tried to win
great services and some wonderful handmade items. We had donations from friends who generously offered to do
tasks that none of us enjoy … i.e.,
yard-work, house cleaning, poop patrol, projects around the house, holiday gift
wrapping, etc. We had others
willing to share their expertise and special talents with donations for computer
help (tune-up/clean-up), holiday greeting cards (with a professional photo
session), hand-crafted items, etc.
We auctioned many services/products that most of us use or buy on a
regular basis, such as dog sitting services, baked goods, and dog treats. And, finally, we auctioned services
that allowed the winners to splurge and treat themselves --- dinners, a day of fishing, a golf outing, a manicure, a wine tasting, and more.
We have some
very talented (and generous) people associated with GO , so there will undoubtedly
be many things that you won’t want to miss. Bring your checkbook!
